Calculate your organization’s Carbon Footprint

An individual or organization's carbon footprint is the sum of all greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. It reflects the extent to which an individual or organization impacts the earth's climate. All greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and others, are taken into account. The carbon footprint calculation consists in adding up all emissions caused by consuming fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas in vehicles, power plants, factories, and homes.

Sports for Climate Action first goal

”Achieving a clear trajectory for the global sports community to combat climate change, through commitments and partnerships according to verified standards, including measuring, reducing, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions, in line with the well below 2 degree scenario enshrined in the Paris Agreement”

In order to do this, the climate framework emphasizes the importance of collecting, analyzing, and acting on data around:

  • Energy usage and efficiency.

  • Transportation.

  • Materials and purchasing.

  • Emissions generated by staff and visitors.

  • Emissions generated by event operations.

By collecting data and analyzing it, organizations can identify areas for improvement, set targets for reducing emissions, and monitor progress.

In addition, the Race to Zero Campaign rewards emission inventory reporting in their framework.
